Annual Artist Grant

Inspired by Sam's creative spirit, Project Sam is committed to supporting local artists whose work invites curiosity, encourages connection, and explores the complexities of being human.

Our Annual Artist Grant provides financial support to a San Antonio-area artist to explore new ideas and create original work for Project Sam's annual art exhibition, held each September. The grant encourages artistic experimentation and creative expression, particularly around themes of identity, belonging, mental health, relationships, and the human experience.

The selected artist will serve as Project Sam's Featured Artist, with their new work presented at the September exhibition. Through this opportunity, we hope to give artists the freedom to explore their creative vision while bringing people together through art, reflection, and meaningful conversation.

As Project Sam grows, we hope to expand the grant program to support additional artists and creative opportunities.

Artists are selected based on the originality and authenticity of their work, their connection to Project Sam's mission, and their potential to engage and inspire the community.

Featured artists are hand-selected by the Project Sam Board of Directors. We do not currently accept applications for this grant.
